- WHISPERS BETWEEN THE GREENS: ROMANCE AT THE COUNTRY CLUB deals with the lives of the super-rich. The vivid descriptions of the characters and the setting, (almost too much for my taste,) make the story come alive. I enjoy a straightforward style of writing, but Landsaw’s technique is beautiful prose combined with dramatic images. As the reader progresses, there are shocking scenes inserted piquing interest and making you wonder why nothing more is included about that passage. All becomes apparent as the story unfolds, however. The beginning of the book could have been developed more. I had hoped to learn more about the deceptive practices at the country club. It became a little difficult to continue reading through the middle of the book with the over abundance of scenes from family life, but then you come to the ending and WHAM! Wow, I never expected the twist that Landsaw throws at the reader. This plot has a great underlying story, but the way it is constructed could have been much better.

I'm a golf fan, so that element was fun for me. The story is filled with romance, passion, and the challenges of a prestigious life. I don't want to give it away, but if you like a great romance with depth, you will love it.
